Dr. Thuy Dinh

Arriving in Australia at the age of 15, Dr Thuy Dinh completed his final three years of high school education at St. John's Regional College, Dandenong. Through sheer determination, he was the proud Year 12 Dux, and secured a highly prized position at The University of Melbourne School of Medicine which included three clinical years at St. Vincent's Hospital.

After graduation, Dr Dinh spent 4 years at The Alfred Hospital during Internship and Residency before entering Specialist training at Monash Medical Centre. Dr Dinh passed all post-graduate examinations at first attempts, and was admitted to the Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. The long arduous years of studies, the fantastic teaching he received from his mentors, the clinical exposure by rotations through different surgical and medical specialties (including Intensive Care, Liver and abdominal trauma surgery, Infectious Diseases, ENT, Neurosurgery) have only given Dr Dinh invaluable experiences and a deep appreciation of the interplay between surgical and medical aspects of Gastro-Intestinal diseases.

Dr Dinh is passionate about giving patients choices and encourages active involvement in chronic diseases management – which often lead to improved health outcomes. Coming from a disadvantaged background, having witnessed the poor level of healthcare in a third world country, Dr Dinh believes that Australia, being a first world country, should set the standards for Day Surgery Centres. He also believes that all Australians should receive their medical treatments in first class and suitably designed facilities, and the 2 centres affiliated with GastroMedicine & ENDOSCOPY (Mornington Endoscopy and Rosebud Endoscopy) are testimonies to this philosophy.
