Dr. Lauren Andersson
Dr Lauren Andersson is a consultant / specialist Gastroenterologist in her second year of PhD at the St Vincent's Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre researching the role of circulating tumour DNA as a peripheral blood biomarker in the diagnosis and monitoring of hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr Andersson completed her specialist training in Western Australia including a fellowship year in advanced liver disease and liver transplantation. Dr Andersson is originally from the Northern Territory with experience in rural and remote medicine and is passionate about the provision of clinical services to underserviced and geographically remote areas of Australia. She is also passionate about gender equity and is a member of the gender equity and diversity committee at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Over the forthcoming years, Dr Andersson looks forward to developing her career as a clinician scientist as she believes scientific understanding and knowledge supports the foundation of clinical medicine.
